Bob,
I can’t thank you enough for getting me in touch with Frank here in Sacramento. I have been meeting with him and his wife at a local coffee shop every week since October (since I attended your novel rewrite workshop). That has really been a big help. Having those meetings to look forward to each week has been very motivating for my writing.
I have got a rough first draft of a mystery finished (around 70,000 words, but like I said it’s rough — I’ve mainly focused on just getting the plot down and developing the characters) and I am now plunging into redraft number one. Your feedback was a real turning point for me. I kept very little from my prior drafts; primarily just my Dad’s paintings as objects – everything else I tossed (well, not literally – who knows, I may use it for something someday). I work on the novel everyday and am making steady progress.
